Canyon Vista Campground – Coconino National Forest
Canyon Vista Campground is located near Walnut Canyon and Lower Lake Mary. This area consists of ponderosa pine, mixed conifer, aspen and oak, which offer good photo opportunities, interesting geology and views of the San Francisco Peaks. Sandy’s Canyon trailhead is located north of the campground and provides access into Walnut Canyon and the Arizona Trail.

Little Elden Springs Horse Camp – Coconino National ForestLittle Elden Springs Horse Camp is a place for people who love horses and open spaces. It is a special place created exclusively for those individuals who enjoy riding their horse through beautiful country. The Horse Camp has been designed with the special needs of the horse-camper in mind. Each of the fifteen sites allows easy access for trucks pulling horse trailers. The campground sits near the base of Mount Elden in a beautiful grove of Ponderosa Pine and Gamble Oak. A trail connects the camp to a system of riding trails on the mountain, but also is within easy access of many areas on the Forest that can be enjoyed by horse riders.

Gobaldon Campground – Aphache Sitgrave National Forest
Gabaldon Campground is situated amid spruce trees at the foot of the Mount Baldy Wilderness. Trails connect the campground to the wilderness via the East Baldy Trail (Trail #95). Horse back riding, hiking, fishing, bird watching, and wildlife viewing are available in the nearby area.The campground is named for Juan Gabaldon, who retired from the Forest Service after working on many of the trails in the area. The campground is a perfect spot to relax after a day’s ride!

Granville Campground – Aphache Sitgrave National Forest
This is a well maintained and pleasant campground for overnight use, a picnic or wildlife viewing. There is plenty of shade located in this unique ecosystem of Arizona Cypress, Quaking aspen and Gambel oak trees.

Groom Creek – Prescot National Forest
This equestrian campground was specifically designed for campers and picnicers who have horses with them. 37 camping units with tables and grills. Drinking water, 1 horse tether for each unit, surfaced campground roads.

Strayhorse Campground – Aphache Sitgraves National Forest
Just six miles below the Mogollon Rim, it provides a cool shady site for picnics or camping. The campground is set among large ponderosa pine and Gambel oak. Strayhorse is the trailhead for two major trails: Highline Trail #47 follows the bottom of the Mogollon Rim and Raspberry Trail #35 provides access into the Blue Range Primitive Area.
